City Clerk's Office


The City Clerk is the custodian of all records and documents pertaining to the City of Norton Shores. These documents include, but are not limited to, meeting minutes, resolutions, agreements, contracts, traffic control orders, ordinances and various licenses and registrations. The City Clerk is the recording secretary and keeps a record of the proceedings of the City Council, Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals.

Service Fees


The City Clerk's Office is also responsible for conducting elections and maintaining accurate voter information. Elections have a set schedule of the first Tuesday after the first Monday in May, August and November. Election Inspector Information

The City of Norton Shores is always looking for registered voters in the State of Michigan to come work the polls on election day! Election inspectors are scheduled to work from 6am until after the polls close at 8pm. You will be able to take breaks throughout the day and rotate work stations so that you get to do a little bit of everything! Our election inspectors make $10.00 an hour. Although it is a long day, it is very rewarding to help administer an election!
